Cecelia McGilvray, LCSW
Cecelia is a licensed therapist who specializes in the treatment of children and adolescents suffering from anxiety, depression, and trauma. She has training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and believes that an integrated approach to therapy is beneficial to most of her patients. In addition to working with children and adolescents, Cecelia is also experienced in addressing family conflict issues and stress.
Her approach to treatment involves taking the time to develop a deep understanding of each of her patients and their specific situation. She then develops an individualized treatment plan and approach which is also shared with patients’ parents, when applicable, to ensure all family members are informed of the treatment path.
Cecelia received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Central Arkansas and her Master of Social Work from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She has experience working in school-based, outpatient, and pediatric day treatment programs.
She enjoys working with her patients at BHSA “because of the organization’s focus on patient care. We are provided with ample training opportunities and supervision, and I have grown tremendously as a clinician in this environment.”
