Kerry specializes in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with children and adolescents, deaf mental health, and divorced/divorcing family issues, as well as providing supervision to other licensed counselors. He earned his Bachelors in Psychology from Williams Baptist College, his Specialist Degree of Education in Psychology of Counseling from Arkansas State University of Jonesboro, and his Specialty in Supervision of Counseling from Harding University. He also received his advanced training certificate for Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy including supervision and consultation.
He has been in the field of mental health therapy since 2005 with experience in parenting classes and training, anger management, being an expert witness in court for child abuse and custody cases, trauma-focused therapy for children and adolescents, deaf mental health services, and general counseling related to mood, family, and behavioral, problems. Kerry began working for BHSA in September 2015.
When discussing BHSA, he shared that he has had a very positive experience thus far and has been really impressed with the expertise of his colleagues and with the positive interaction between employees and employers. He stated that BHSA, “goes above and beyond to provide the most ethical and evidence-based services to all clients being served. I have been treated like family since day one and supported whole-heartedly.”
In his spare time, he enjoys music, woodworking, and spending time with his wife and three boys – he particularly enjoys playing Mario with his family! He also enjoys survival-themed novels, such as “Ashfall,” and trying new things, especially if there is a challenge involved.
